Rejected, Guideline 4.3
Spam (Design)
4.3 usually means your app is too similar to others. Apple wants to see what makes yours different, and the answer has to be in the product.
What it means
Apple sees your app as a copy of another app (often yours, or a template everyone uses) or as part of a saturated category.
Common causes
- Same codebase submitted as several apps with different skins
- A starter template with little differentiation
- A crowded category (wallpapers, fortune, simple calculators) with no distinct angle
How to fix it
- 1.List the 3 closest apps. Write down exactly what yours does that they don't.
- 2.Make that difference visible in the first session, not buried in settings.
- 3.If you ship multiple similar apps, consolidate them into one app with variants.
- 4.Replace template screenshots, copy and icon with your own.
- 5.State the unique value in review notes, with the steps to see it.
Usually 1 to 2 rounds to fix. Rewording alone works rarely. Needs genuine differentiation; wording alone won't clear it.
